September 21st is the day on which the Alba White Truffle makes its season debut. The Regional Law of Piedmont establishes that the Alba White Truffle can be bought/sold from 21 September until 31 January. Truffle hunting is undoubtedly the most exciting moment for nature lovers, for truffle enthusiasts and clearly for all gourmets.
To find the sublime "Alba White Truffle", the Truffle Hunter, in addition to possessing a high level of experience, makes use of the collaboration of his great dog friend, with a very fine nose and trained to recognize the scent of this incomparable tuber. Following the discovery, the Truffle is extracted from the ground with a special hoe by the Finder.
The Alba White Truffle, also called "Tuber Magnatum Pico", is harvested in the territories of the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato (Piedmont / Italy), is not a cultivable tuber and is a natural sentinel of the Territory.
